Great Aunt Mildred’s Pecan Pie (Nutty) (Very Good)

Great Aunt Mildred’s pecan pie recipe has been a beloved family tradition since she first discovered it from Imperial Sugar in Sugar Land, Texas. This recipe remains a testament to Mildred’s keen eye for delightful discoveries and Imperial Sugar’s enduring quality.

1 1/2 cups brown sugar (firmly packed)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup water
2 tbs flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1 1/2 cups pecan halves
3/4 tsp vanilla

Combine first 5 ingredients in a small bowl + mix well. Beat in eggs one at a time. Add evaporated milk and mix well. Stir in pecan halves + vanilla. Mix well + turn into unbaked 9″ pie shell. Cook in preheated oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 min. Reduce heat to 350 degrees Fahrenheit + cook an additional 35 to 40 minutes, or until filling is puffed in center and is well browned. Let pie cool before cutting.
